I love running

I love all kinds of exercise, especially aerobics and other fitness classes, but running really is my all time fave. It is a great form of cardio exercise and can also give you a great feeling of mental well-being and a real sense of some quality time and head-space to yourself (very good for mums!)

I have included some advice on running in pregnancy and running for new mums on this site – don’t think for one minute you have to hang up your running shoes!

I love running for pleasure, but races are also great and I get a real sense of achievement by taking part. I have done Race for Life a few times, the Great South run and half marathons but my biggest running challenge was my first marathon when my daughter was just eight months old. I have now got the bug and plan to enter more in the future. See below for a few pics…

Brighton Marathon: April 2018

Completed in 3 hours 58 minutes
Finally got my sub-4 hours at 38 years old! Delighted! Also managed to raise over £900 for cancer research in memory of uncle Dave – what a legend. Best day x


Brighton half marathon: February 2018

Completed in 1 hours 45 minutes
7 minutes off last year but still no PB!


Brighton half marathon: February 2017

Completed in 1 hours 52 minutes
Did not do enough training and it showed! Hopefully a PB next time!


Brighton Marathon: April 2016

Completed in 4 hours 4 minutes
Very happy to have knocked 36 minutes off PB but gutted not to get under 4 hours! Next time!

Completed in 1 hour 16 minutes
Definitely 10 mile PB!!
Nice day, really pushed it, chuffed with PB, looked at the wrong clock half way round!

Gorgeous day, trained hard so felt comfortable, even managed a sprint finish!

Really nice route along the seafront and felt like I worked hard all the way round. Great buzz!


Barnes Green half Marathon: October 2011

Daughter 14 months old
Completed in 1 hour 50 minutes
Much hillier than I expected, but fun! Legs ached for 3 days afterwards – more hill training next time!




Brighton Marathon: April 2011

Very hot day and got awful cramp at 21 miles – got to the end though!
