Pregnant, but not exercising? It’s a great time to start

I just read this great article by P. Adam Dodd who is an obstetrician and gynecologist for Sutter Gould Medical Foundation. It begins:

“Use pregnancy as an impetus to start exercising. That’s what I advise my patients, as physical exercise helps each woman feel healthy, active and at the top of her game during the physical changes of pregnancy.”

What a sensible man!

Women who have never exercised before are bound to be worried about beginning an exercise programme, but as long as the pregnancy is uncomplicated and the mum is healthy, there is no reason why not. Choose activities appropriate to your fitness levels, lifestyle and what you enjoy.

What better time to start making fit and healthy choices?
